First nacaps survey closed

The first nacaps survey has been closed. About 25 000 respondents completed the survey.

The German Centre for Higher Education Research and Science Studies (DZHW) jointly with more than 50 Partner HEIs has invited about 90 000 doctoral candidates to participate in an online survey. Topics of the survey included the study conditions for doctorates, career aims and professional development, as well as on the general life situation. About 25 000 respondents have completed the survey. The data will be processed and evaluated in the upcoming months.

”We would like to thank the many doctoral candidates that took the time to complete the survey! It brings us much closer to our aim to gain representative data about the situation of early carreer researchers in Germany for the first time. Moreover, the fact that the majority of participants has agreed to participate in further surveys of our panel study lays ground for a long term monitoring of this group”, says Kolja Briedis project manager of nacaps.
